'I wonder if I could trouble you for a moment? A friend of mine, Bersi, struck out on his own to a grove north-east of Kheledûl to collect herbs for his recipes. I warned him of the threat of vicious spiders in the area, but he laughed them off.

'Bersi is a good fellow and a fine cook, but he can be a bit addle-brained at times. My annoyance has turned to worry. Set a dwarf's mind at ease and search for him, will you? I'm sure he's just lost track of time, but still....

'The spider-lair is north-east of Kheledûl, but what with those wretched Dourhands about, I would counsel you to take the long way around the port.'

Background

Bersi, a dwarf-cook, went off to collect herbs near a large lair of evil spiders north-east of Kheledûl, but he never returned.

• Find Bersi

Bersi is probably at or near the spider-lair north and east of Kheledûl.

Nithi has asked you to seek out his friend Bersi who went to gather herbs near a lair of vicious spiders. He recommended that you head north-east before you reach Kheledûl so as not to risk an encounter with the Dourhands.

Nithi: 'Have you found Bersi yet? No? He is likely near the spider-nest, north and east of Kheledûl…you should hurry to make sure he is unharmed!'

Bersi: 'Ah! At last someone has come. I've been trapped here for two days by those spiders! It was only a matter of time before they discovered me and they'd be the ones fixing a meal....'
